Testing: PSAT 8/9 & PSAT/NMSQT

The PSAT 8/9 is intended to help 8th and 9th grade students plan a path to college. And although the exam does not directly affect scholarship opportunities like the PSAT/NMSQT (which students will take in the 10th and 11th grades) or college applications like the SAT, the PSAT 8/9 is a useful way to gauge your overall readiness for the rigors of our high school curriculum and AP courses.

Just as the PSAT 8/9 can be viewed as preparation for the PSAT/NMSQT, the PSAT/NMSQT can be viewed as SAT preparation for our 10th and 11th grade students. Additionally, high enough scores on the PSAT/NMSQT will qualify students for recognition and potential scholarship awards through the National Merit Scholarship Program.
